
Bob Maskell
Chief Operating Officer
As the Chief Operations Officer at Minerva Space Technologies, Bob Maskell brings over 45 years of proven operations, engineering, and development experience to the team, to execute business plans, resource allocation, and company growth. Bob drives daily operations companywide, providing leadership and practical expertise across the organization.
His extensive experience spans across a variety of technology companies including Cisco Systems, Spectrum Astro, and Marshall Associates. More recently, he was a founder of and consultant at several space startup companies including North Star Satellite Services (NSSI Co), Plan B Space Systems Consulting and Acme Cislunar Operations Company.
Affectionally and well-known in the space industry as “Cowboy Bob”, prior to his highly successful civilian career, Bob had a distinguished twenty-year active duty US Naval career including commanding the USS Conolly and holding sub-specialties in Anti-Submarine Warfare, Command and Control, Space Operations and Communications Engineering before retiring with numerous awards, commendations, and honors.
Bob Maskell graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1973 earning a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering followed by Underwater Swimmers School to become a US Navy Scuba Diver and earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE); the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA); and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). He is a Life Member of both the US Naval Academy Alumni Association and the Military Officers Association of America.
